Meet Jai Mulani: The Visionary Behind One of the Middle East’s Fastest-Growing BPO Empires

A Storey of Rags to Riches!

In a world full of entrepreneurs, few stand out as individuals who rewrite the rules of business, leadership, and resilience. Jai Mulani is one of them.

Rewinding back to 2003 — Jai’s job application was declined by a call center in India. Fast forward to today, he is the Founder and CEO of IBT, one of the most prominent BPO and customer experience outsourcing companies in the Middle East — valued today at over $150,000,000 USD (Approx. 0.5 Billion AED). A journey that started with rejection transformed into a legacy of impact, innovation, and unstoppable drive.

Humble Beginnings. Bold Vision.

Jai was born into a lower-middle-class family in India, where dreams were often larger than life but smaller than resources. At the age of 19, armed with nothing but ambition and a college degree, he moved to Dubai — a city known for rewarding hustle and punishing hesitation.

Those first years in the UAE were testing. He lived in a cramped apartment, budgeting every dirham while working as an entry-level IT engineer. But where others saw limitations, Jai saw a launchpad. His work ethic was simple: say yes to the grind, learn fast, and never stop moving forward.

In 2004, Jai pivoted into a techno-commercial role — an entry into the world of enterprise sales. While sales was unfamiliar territory for someone with a tech background, it quickly became his playground. By 2008, he had risen to the position of Sales Director. But then came the global recession.

Jai lost his job.

But he didn’t lose his purpose.

From Crisis to Creation

In 2009, at the height of the financial downturn, Jai founded IBT.

With zero capital, no external funding, and no fallback, he launched a company focused on IT services — cloud consulting, infrastructure support, and call center setup services. He bootstrapped everything.

What IBT lacked in resources, it made up in grit. Every client mattered. Every dollar was reinvested. Jai was not just the CEO — he was the first salesperson, tech lead, customer support agent, and collections manager. He knew failure wasn’t an option.

Customer service became the soul of IBT — not as a buzzword, but as a survival strategy.

Building a Powerhouse

After several pivots and market experiments, Jai identified a major opportunity: BPO and customer experience outsourcing in the Middle East was ripe for disruption. IBT expanded fully into the BPO space.

From that moment, growth accelerated.

What began as a startup with no office and no funding became a multi-service powerhouse serving leading brands across the GCC and beyond. Today, IBT provides:

- Call Center Outsourcing

- Customer Service & Experience Management

- Technology Solutions

- Digital CX

- Live Chat and Back Office Support

IBT now employs over 1,000+ professionals, operates across several verticals, and continues to scale aggressively under Jai’s leadership. Its valuation today stands at a staggering $150 Million USD, a testament to vision, execution, and relentless determination.

The Man Behind the Brand

Jai Mulani is not just a founder — he’s a mentor, thought leader, and family man. He credits his wife, Jhanvi, as the emotional backbone of his journey. “If I’m not working, I’m with her or teaching my children about life, love, or entrepreneurship,” he says.

He considers both India and the UAE as his homeland — one gave him his roots, the other gave him wings.

On platforms like LinkedIn, Jai shares deep insights into business growth in the Middle East, hiring strategies, entrepreneurship, taxes, and leadership. He is known for his clarity of thought and ability to align business vision with regional leadership and economic direction.

A Legacy in Motion

Jai Mulani’s story isn’t just about success — it’s about belief. The belief that setbacks are setups for comebacks. The belief that purpose is more powerful than capital. And the belief that great businesses are not built in comfort zones, but in times of crisis.

From being rejected by a call center in 2003 to building one of the most respected BPO companies in the region, Jai Mulani’s journey continues to inspire thousands across industries and borders.

And if anyone ask’s him — he’ll say, “This is just the beginning.”
