AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) will mark the 35th anniversary of its award-winning Out of the Closet (OTC) thrift store chain with a celebration and anniversary sale on Saturday, October 4th at the first Out of the Closet location in Los Angeles’ Atwater Village. The location first opened in October 1990 and is still going strong. Saturday’s celebration and 35% off sale will take place from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (store is open until 7:00 p.m.) and features a DJ, a free food truck and more. AHF now operates 25 Out of the Closet stores in nine states.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) commended President Joseph Biden for proclaiming a national state of emergency on monkeypox earlier today. The move comes as more than 5,100 cases have been reported across the country. According to the New York Times, the declaration “… gives federal agencies power to direct money toward developing and evaluating vaccines and drugs, to access emergency funding and to hire additional workers to help manage the outbreak, which began in May.”
