As part of its continued growth and expansion, Atwell is pleased to announce that it has acquired a majority stake in Centurion Power, a company based in Washougal, Washington, that provides third-party electrical acceptance testing, inspection, certification, and commissioning, serving the electrical power industry. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has acquired the operations of Capital Civil Engineering (CCE), an engineering firm located in Apex, North Carolina. This acquisition expands Atwell’s presence in North Carolina and the Southeast.

The Atwell Gives Foundation has created a new national partnership with Science Olympiad, one of the largest science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) team competitions in the United States. The Atwell Gives Foundation will act as the National Title Sponsor of Science Olympiad’s Urban Schools Initiative (USI), a signature program designed to create STEM pathways for underserved students in Title 1 schools in metropolitan areas.

Atwell has continued to extend its reach by acquiring the operations of Terrascape Consulting, adding expertise in engineering and surveying to its resources in the Southwest. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

As part of its continued growth and expansion, Atwell has acquired the operations of SEI Engineering, Inc. (SEI). SEI is based in Marietta, Georgia, and has a more than 25-year history of engineering excellence. This acquisition increases Atwell’s depth and strength in the Southeast, particularly in engineering and surveying services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has acquired Hydro Consultants, a professional surveying, engineering, and mapping company located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This acquisition expands Atwell’s presence in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has acquired Biscayne Engineering, an engineering and surveying company with offices in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida. This acquisition expands Atwell’s already robust presence in Florida, adding over 50 employees, and will be the company’s first office in Miami. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell, a leading consulting, engineering, and construction services firm, has announced that it has secured a $200 million senior credit facility with a lending group led by Bank of America. Also included in the lending group are U.S. Bank, TD Bank, and Old National Bank. This new facility enhances Atwell’s financial flexibility, with increased capacity to drive anticipated organic and acquisition growth. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In its second acquisition of the year, Atwell has acquired Karins and Associates, an engineering, surveying, and planning firm with locations in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. This acquisition continues to strengthen Atwell’s resources and capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic, building upon the acquisitions of Bay Engineering in 2023 and Ben Dyer Associates in 2022. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has acquired BEI Engineering Group, LLC, doing business as Banks Engineering, a 90-person firm providing civil engineering, planning, and land surveying services. The acquisition of Banks Engineering continues to strengthen Atwell’s resources and capabilities in Florida, specifically in Fort Myers and Port Charlotte. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has acquired the operations of Summit Engineering Group, a civil engineering and land surveying firm headquartered in Heber City, Utah. This is Atwell’s first permanent office in Utah, adding to the company’s recent expansion in the western United States. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has acquired the operations of Mead Gilman & Associates, a land surveying firm located in Woodinville, Washington. Mead Gilman & Associates has been serving the Pacific Northwest for more than 60 years and specializes in 3D mapping and modeling, subdivisions/platting, boundary surveys, mapping/topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and more.

Atwell announced today that it has acquired Bay Engineering, Inc., an engineering, surveying, and environmental firm headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland. The firm specializes in land development services for both public and private clients throughout Central and Southern Maryland. This acquisition continues to strengthen Atwell’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic, building upon the firm’s acquisition of Ben Dyer Associates, Inc. in 2022. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell announced today that it has acquired Dexter Bender & Associates Environmental Consulting (DexBender), an environmental and marine consulting firm located in Fort Myers, Florida. DexBender works with private and public clients to provide services such as protected species assessment, wetland mitigation, preserve monitoring and compliance, state and federal wetland permitting, and other environmental services. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In its first acquisition of 2023, Atwell has acquired Blueline, a 75-person civil engineering, land planning, and landscape architecture firm based in Kirkland, Washington. Blueline has four offices throughout Washington and serves clients in commercial development, residential development, and public works. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Dempsey Surveying Company, a land surveying firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. This acquisition, the third transaction announced by Atwell this quarter, will expand the company’s presence in Ohio and surveying capabilities in the Midwest. The deal is expected to close by Dec. 31, 2022.

In its second transaction this quarter, Atwell has acquired Ben Dyer Associates, Inc., a 60-person engineering firm based in Maryland. Ben Dyer Associates specializes in civil engineering, land planning, and surveying services for land development and redevelopment projects throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Atwell has provided the financing to a private investment group that has acquired Cross Surveying, LLC, a 28-person land surveying firm based in Florida. As part of the transaction, Atwell will work with Cross Surveying on expansion opportunities and all Florida surveying operations. Cross Surveying specializes in providing a comprehensive approach to surveying and mapping projects. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

David L. Richter, PMP, FCMAA, FCIOB, has joined Atwell, LLC – a national consulting, engineering, and construction services firm – as Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer. In this newly-created role, Richter will work with Atwell’s senior management team to drive the strategic growth of the firm by leading the firm’s merger and acquisition efforts and strategic planning across all market sectors, regions, and offices.
